From my tests seems not possible to use the setup participant functionality.
Here is what I have done.
Context Team: the Design Engineer role is empty.
At ECN creation I select a the team template I want to use, which has 3 users in the Design Engineer role.
Which resolve in a team instance for the DE role:
In the activity, the "Set Up Participants" tab will auto-populate the 3 users in the team instance.
have used the "resourse pool" to restrict the user from the "Designe Engineer" role only.
If a user is removed by mistake, I cannot re-add it anymore,
In fact, when you add a user, the query is against the role in the Context Team and not the Team instance of that specific ECN.

Re: Creo Drawing Appears Different in Creo View
Thanks for the replys. I have exported the drawing to a PDF with no issues other than a slightly different font. The PDF exported from the .drw file has no issues.
The issue may have been due to inconsistent model versions like Darren has suggested, but I have not completely verified that the problem is resolved. I went through one drawing and updated the model and drawing and are now showing the same version number. I also synchronized and refreshed my workspace. After, I noticed that in the drawing info within the content tab and under Representations/Annotations that a new representation was generated for Creo View. This now appears to be exactly the same as the .drw file.
What controls this autogenerated Creo View representation? On one drawing I deleted this "default" representation and now I cannot get it back. The correctly autogenerated rep includes the following under the details column, "EPM only, Derived From: Drawing - XXXDWXXXXXX.drw, A.4". I also tried creating new representations, but they do not appear and are not executed unless I select "EPM Windchill Structure". Does anyone have any information that can help me better understand what is going on here?

This error message is saying that Windchill is trying to connect to WindchillDS using the below hostname and port, but the connection is being refused:
ldap.ndcsd.nmci.navy.mil:1689
WindchillDS uses port 1689 for JMX monitoring. Since you're only seeing these connection errors for 1689, and not for the normal LDAP port (389), that likely means that there's nothing wrong with WindchillDS itself. Instead, the problem is with port 1689. Do you have a firewall on the WindchillDS server that's blocking port 1689?

Is there a way to retrieve Role of a given user in Windchil with the help of Rest api or Info* Engine Task(webject xml)?
We are trying to pull data from Windchill into Thingworx, either using REST services or InfoEngine Tasks (webject xml). But the REST APIs found in the windchill documentation have less or no samples. Please help us.

It looks like that Repository table is locked by another session. Did you verify whether you have the right values for database properties in Windchill/db/db.properties? specifically wt.pom.dbUser, dbHost, dbService?

Hi,
yes, all the database values are correctly set.
I already asked my db admin to restart the database but the problem is still here. I deactivated the background methoserver but it still fails to start with the same error in the logs.

PDMLink and Creo Publishing
We are starting to load larger Creo models and assemblies into PDMLink, and were wondering what most do or best practices when it comes to publishing. We are looking to move the publishing to after hours, but a problem we are seeing are the representations being created. A few of the models are rapidly changing(iterations over 100), and each time they are checked out/in, the entire model is published and not just the few changes. We get stacked publishing jobs that take a couple of hours each and the representations are filling up the file vaults. Just wondering if there are properties we can set cut down on the representations being produced and maybe speeding up the publish jobs. Many thanks for any info!

We had publishing done automatically on check-in but it was getting overloaded, so as you suggest, we disabled. Users request publish as needed during the day. We have a scheduled job which runs every night and picks up all that didn't get published already. Seems to be working very well.

You may want to consider using extended positioning assemblies for your assembly publishing. This has made a huge difference for us both in terms of publishing time and file size. The other option is to add more CAD workers. We have 15 workers running on the same virtual machine. As long as you throw enough virtual RAM and CPU at it, it works great (and only requires 1 node-locked license.) During heavy publishing we can output one job per second, on average.

question for Automatic build of customizations via BIF
I am trying to setup Jenkins project to deploy automatically.
Now the source package generated(jar file) via ant script contain “java -jar BIFSDK-*.*.*.**.jar dist” command.
Then next step should be make batch script to deploy the source package to Windchill server. but my issue is
how to make script, that the tools opinion can be selected by script after executing the command "java -jar XXXXXXDist.jar install"？

How to loop SQL "select WTKEY_SEQ.nextval from dual"
Hi guys,
In order to solve a problem of method server start, I have to do the request:
select WTKEY_SEQ.nextval from dual
I have to do it until its value reaches 163553 but now it is only 139082. Each time I do the request, the value increments of 1.
I don't know very much about SQL and I would like to know if there is syntax to make a loop of this request until it reaches the correct value.

You may see some other posts on this topic from me. I'm violently opposed to the way PTC has provided this functionality - preventing check in. In general, you want all data to be checked in, and to allow users to freely develop concepts w/o having to run disciplined checks.
Instead, it makes sense to force use of ModelCheck and no errors before release. Can easily set up to have a workflow process branch based on the ModelCheck attribute values.
Preventing checkin is the last thing you want to do if someone doesn't know how to fix the errors.

I agree. I've had users simply delete features that gave errors because they didn't know how to fix them, usually from problems they had created. This snow-balls into other areas that were previously OK, making for hours of work to save one user a few minutes to figure out.
