Reference documents are those documents that are supplementary to the main drawing like Material, process, or any other documents that are required to manufacture the part, and are called out in the main drawing.

Described By documents are those documents that are similar to a drawing but as a text formats (the way we call it- Word drawing)

So it is selectable.

How can I "Need to clear Tomcat cache <WT_HOME>/tomcat/instances"?

May be you need to delete the users from Windchill.

If you have deactivated users in Active Directory then can find the disconnected users and then delete them.

MPMLink - MAPSB - Equivalence Links to Self

When transforming a eBOM to an mBOM, we have been duplicating without propagating child design parts (basically quick copy / paste).  We have noticed that there are links created between a design part in eBOM and the as-is design part in the mBOM.  The preference Allow Creation of Equivalence Link to Self controls this and the default is yes.....can anyone explain the pros and cons of leaving this yes or changing to no.  My gut tells me that we should just leave alone.....but I at least want to know why.  What would be the use case for both?

Reference Documents are all kind of international or internal norms and standards.

These documents are valid in general in the latest released state and do not directly describe a part version

.

Any other document like a calculation, checklist, color specification or CAD Drawing where you need to track the version specific changes which describe the part you produce is a describe document.

database from INTRALINK 3.4 M070 to Windchill PDM Essentials (Windchill PDMLink 10.2 M030-CPS20)?

anyone knows the steps to migrate to INTRALINK 3.4 M070 PTC Windchill PDM Essentials (Windchill PDMLink 10.2 M030-CPS20)

it comes to pass from one Oracle database to SQL

a consultant told me that you have to extract individual files from INTRALINK and then reinsert
but it would be too long to work and I can not believe

I understand that this is a forum and not the assistance, but maybe someone has already done this enterprise
and can give me a hint

How can I see which Creo Parameter maps to which WT Attribute (owner link)?

Hi,

we would like to populate Attributes in WINDCHILL Parts  by using creo Parameters. Some attribute mappings I retrieved by Trail-and-Error, but for others I did not succeed.

So my question is if it is possible to get a list from the system about those mappings? Or how can I find it? Thank you.

Best regards

Norbert

3 parameter Weibull curves

Hello PTC Community,

I recently created a 3 parameter Weibull plot. I understand the basics of 2 paramater vs. 3 parameter and time shifting using γ (gamma).

If you look at the 3-parameter Weibull plot below, the curved line is the unshifted data. My question for everyone is, what is that line? If you plot the unshifted data using 2-parameters, the line looks straight. However, when you plot it using a 3-parameters, then we see a curved unshifted line. Does anyone have any insight into this?

3-parameter Weibull plot (curved line is probability line [unshifted data], straight line is shifted data)

Since you have Intralink 3.4 do you should have a Pro/INTRALINK download option?

This is a continual source of confusion for users...

At previous company we finally did the following:

1. Disable the OTB "Document" and "Reference Document" types.  No one has a clue what these mean.

2. Create one or more sub types under these with names that are meaningful to your company.

3. Create document templates with careful naming for each.

4. Encourage (and constantly refresh the encouragement) all users to create all documents from template - the correct type will result from this.

5. Establish procedures for what users need to do with each type when retrieved with a WTPart.  The whole point is - for this WTPart at B.3, here are all the documents (CAD and non-CAD) needed for this Part.  Some are also at Rev B because they directly describe Rev B; others displayed as whatever the latest released Rev is.
