I would be interested too. Does anybody knows if customized REST Services are supported by now (11.0M020)?
Is there any other manual? Thanks for sharing.

Updating the Windchill Update/Upgrade Path document to be forward looking is a start in the right direction.
The Windchill Upgrade Guide documents should also be updated to reflect this potential problem as the last few versions which I have read contain this same paragraph:
"Critical Patch Set releases are supported as Windchill upgrade targets. Critical Patch Sets may include upgrade-related fixes, so PTC recommends that upgrade target systems be updated to the latest applicable CPS before upgrade."
Following those directions in the Upgrade Guide can lead to this problem at the exact wrong time. Time is money, and a month's worth of time waiting for another CPS release that might make a system compatible for update/upgrade is not a good solution. The user should be forewarned in any document that references installing CPS.
A big improvement could also be made to the PSI installer. At the stage of "Select how you would like to update your PTC Windchill Installation", all of the radio buttons are shown, but only the valid selections are active. Adding a simple line about why a particular radio button is inactive would be extremely helpful. For example, when a installation is not compatible for update, the Install Maintenance Release button/line could have a simple "Not compatible with current configuration" noted next to it. Today, it just sits there inactive, offering nothing. The installer log contains that information, but the log location is not documented either from what I can tell. I had to run Process Monitor to find that the installer was logging to a file in the %TEMP% folder. Not nearly as user friendly as it could be.
Thank you.
Re: "from the End Item, get a relationship report"... Q: is this report only applicable to End Item CAD Objects? I've never seen such a report. Where would I find such a report? For ref. we're operating in Windchill 10.2 M030. Thanks in advance!
I've also battled this field. What I can confirm is that they must be doing some parsing in the command path that expects the whitelist prefix to stop on a slash. For example, I had three workers on my cad worker setup as pdmlink10worker1, pdmlink10worker2 and pdmlink10worker3. These were all subfolder names. If my whitelist prefix was "C:\pdmlink10worker" is puked on it. If I changed it to "C:\pdmlin10worker1" it accepted my first command but no the others obviously. The implementation should have been straight up java regex. Not sure how they goofed it.
I wanted to cross check some class/java files between different environments?
I don't have login credentials of those machines to do the same.
Is there any way around for this?
Hi Tom,
Thanks for your reply. I just repeated the steps again. now its working fine.
Hi Rick,
Can you please provide more information on the Windchill Version & CAD application that you are trying to register?
If you can explain on steps followed where you are observing the exit, it will be helpful for analysis.

An issue in our Windchill 10.2 installation:
Renaming a view in the View Administration, lets the Structure button in the context menu disappear.
Any idea why this happens?
regards, Michael
Pankaj,
I have resolved my issue.
The first thing I did was to run WGM in administrator mode.
The next thing I needed to do was set the environment variable PTC_WLD_ROOT to my new home directory.
The path to my old account had a dot in the pathname which WGM did not like.
Found the preference "default part view". Setting this once again solves the issue.
Hi all,
we are trying to add some custom attributes to the ESI map file which will be gathered and added by a custom ESIWTPartRenderer's adjustPartElement() function. If we initiate a publish on a part, then everything works as expected: our custom code is called, we read out the needed data and set it as the specific attribute's value.
The problem is, that if there is a link between a document and a part and I initiate the publish on the document (wan't the document, the related parts and the link in between to be published), then the part's custom renderer is not called... therefor the custom attribute won't get a value.
Any ideas how to force the custom renderer to be called even in case of an indirect publishing of the part (publishing the document that has a link to the part).
BR,
Tamás
The problem is with Adobe's LiveCycle program. I called in and created a case with PTC because we have the same problem. Part of the issue is the macro-enabled documents are not supported by LC...XLSM, DOCM, PPTM. Although many do publish, but you have to add them to a property.
There are other documents that have large file sizes that won't publish no matter what document type it is. It looks like that is the main issue. I don't think I can get anything over 3 MB to publish. I know...3 MB is not that big. But just about everything smaller in size will publish.
PTC opened a call with Adobe on this issue but I don't have much faith in it getting fixed.

I am looking for a way to integrate an attribute into the numbering scheme for documents. The attribute is assigned to a product (project number). Each project number is unique and is entered into the corresponding field when the product is created. Each product should have its own generated 5-digit number.
Finally, the filenames and numbers should look as follows:
435698-10065 (Project number-generated number)
Can someone tell me how I can access the product's attribute in the project initialization rule?
Greetings,
Joshua
I am running Windchill 10.1 M040 and when I create a Purge Job, the window flashes with the "Archive Purged Objects" checkbox checked, then goes away? I do not want to archive these purged files but I can "uncheck" the Archive Purged Objects checkbox?
I will attach what I have so far in a few minutes but the list is definitely not long enough.
Scott, have you seen this group in the community? Reporting
There is also this document with lots of query builder ready to use Resource for reporting
Maybe there is not exactly what are you looking for, but something similar that you can use.
