Yes I am sure the ACL was applied to the Role in that context as I only added that new Role to that context.I also tried it on some OOB roles just to check.
Its as if somehow the ACL is not applied to the Group thats in the Role.

vi scrivo perché da qualche giorno alcuni utenti, tentando di accedere al server Windchill, ricevono il messaggio di errore "Utente non trovato".
Vi riporto di seguito l'output completo dell'errore.
Ritentando un'ora dopo il problema non si ripresenta.
Riavviare il server di Windchill e pulire la cache del server Web non hanno portato alcune beneficio.

Nella comunità la lingua da utilizzare per avere risposta è l'inglese, altrimenti limiti da subito i potenziali utenti che possono aiutarti.

Ovviamente puoi aprire una chiamata solo se hai un contratto di manutenzione attiva.
Visto che lavoriamo nella stessa provincia se ti serve posso darti supporto nell'apertura della chiamata, ma non nella risoluzione del problema.

Definitely frustrating - have seen lots of things like this over the years.
Only other suggestions are:
- Use Manage Security a lot to track down exactly what ACL's are being applied to specific groups / users
- Remove, then re-add the ACL and see what this does (shouldn't have to do this but sometimes it lends light to the situation)

I need to invoke javascript funtion after "defineItemAttributesWizStep" is displayed.
The purpose is to set number field "readOnly=true".
How can i do it?
Action attribute "beforeJS" does not help because field is null at that time.

Windchill not starting after cloning..
Hi,
I trying to clone my production server for that i did the followed steps,
- Copy the Windchill installation and third party product at the same directory structure from the source machine to the target machine (windchill and Apache directory)
- Install oracle on the new machine
- Run the PSI on the target machine and install java , WindchillDS and OCU
- Import the Production database dump on the New machine’s DB
- Import the LDAP to the Windchill DS on the New machine
- If database is installed on the Production machine then no need to make any changes in db.properties file, else update “wt.pom.jdbc.host=<target host name>” in db.properties file of the target machine.
After completed the above steps i tried to start the windchill, but its not started. Herewith i attached the MS log file.
whether i followed the correct steps or anyone please suggest me the correct steps for that.

Made some headway on this.
First I removed all the extra roles in the context that I was not going to use. Then I added the new Roles in ALL the context. I was then able to apply a policy to that Role and it worked. I then added a test Group to place in the role.
I also Hide all the Role I was not going to use.
For now, it seems that I can use the Org level Policy.
The one thing that makes this difficult in 11 is having Windchill find (display) the role I want to add the Policy to. You type in the name and sometimes nothing displays, I then type in another name and wait for the Advanced Search to pop up so I can type in the correct name. Chrome seems to be a bit faster at this then IE.

There are a bunch of properties files and database entries that need to be changed. The only PTC supported method is to run the rehosting tool. Everything you did so far is fine, you just need to add that as step 6.

Is there a serial number for Windchill? If so then where is it? Our tax person is asking if there is one.

I don't think so, just like there is no serial number for Creo. The closest you have would be your customer ID number, Site ID number or Service Contract Number. Between those 3, you should have a unique identifier.

It is solved. I found the error.
Originally I was telling to check this:

break;
So the if was break at the first attribute it was getting (any attribute). Obvisously it was not the one i wanted. So I have put the break inside like that:
if (val.getDefinition().getName().equals("contracttype")) {
IPselect= val.getLocalizedDisplayString();
break;
}
So now it will check all the attributes, and it will stop when it will get the "contracttype".

I need to add some additional fields to picker page.
