What I don't understand is why it is not possible to automatically add the additional file types as an attachment. I find it much more clear when the additional files are listed in the attachment overview than in the more hidden representations.

What is the exact difference between a representation and an attachment?

Also an advantage is that in IE we have the problem that an .stp and . sat are opening in a HTML editior instead of that they are downloaded. When the additional files where in the attachment I was able to click on the download icon.

Yes - we see this too and would like to know what causes this.

 

We only see this behaviour on our Windchill Server System and not on the client machines - this leads me to believe that it must be due to some IE preference or security setting, but I can't ascertain what setting is causing it.

Is it possible to export AML/AVL to an Excel or PDF format?

In the AML/AVL table (in the WTPart object) I can't see the export to excel/pdf action, like it is in the another tables (e.g. AML/AVL Changes). Is it possible to export this table using OOTB capabilities?

Windchill Database Relationships - As Stored Baselines

Curious if anyone knows what tables the "As Stored" baselines are kept in.  If I understand correctly, every time a group of related objects is checked in together, a hidden baseline is created.  This allows the "as stored" configuration to be recalled in the future (what version of each object was used).  I would like to know what database table(s) this information is kept in.  From what I can tell, EPMMemberLink and EMPReferenceLink are not the place.  Thanks.

This might be the preference which controls but not sure.  The "Calculated Links" likely is the key thing to prevent.

How to load extensive Enumerated List values?

On tech support case C13184101 just now, I'm advised by PTC that one can load .xml files with values but that there is no way from PTC to work in Excel and convert to proper .xml.  Does anyone have a way to convert a long list of values to xml and then load as the set of values of an enumerated attribute list?

I didn’t found any csv/spreadsheet which can be used to load Global Enumeration. While exporting the enumeration it exports other related information as well such as Organizer. I have attached a sample xml.

Hello Bob,

 

I have been tasked this week to implement SSO (Single SIgn On) with ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services) which I have never used.

PTC itself does not directly support Single Sign On which is a Problem as SAP and the other 3 Applications they integrated apparantly supply the Step by Step commands required within the ADFS interface.

All I have found at ptc.com is Help which mentions which Authentication Methods Windchill Supports.

 

Have you or  anyone implemented SSO with ADFS and would you be willing to provide your Installation Procedure.  (ADS side and changes to Apache/Windchill)

this is how it looks like I have 3 options to perform Create CAD, Create CAD Drawing or create Non CAD, when I try to complete the update doc it terminates the process

Bulk Load list of constraint values for an attribute.

Hi,

 

I need to update list values for the classification attribute which has around 700 - 1000.

 

the constraints list of are updated via Counterpart manually.

 

Is there a way to bulk load.

Start Creo and other applications with the nexiles starter

The nexiles starter can start any application from Creo, AutoCAD, CATIA, Solidworks, Mathcad or any self written apps.

The configuration files are stored in PDMLink as WTDocuments. They have the normal lifecycle status net and are revison controled.

My company recently upgraded to Release: 10.2 M030-CPS14 in Windchill and the REPLY TO COMMENT in the Process tab under discussion is now greyed out.  All users will right-click to get that function, but it no longer works.  I'm assuming it's a setting, but I cannot get our local Windchill support to figure it out.

 

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Remove the product from recently add or from browse product icon ?

Hello Everyone,

I want to remove the product (do not want to delete the product from windchill) from the recently added (visited) list and Product icon. When i search for products and click on the specific product, that product can be seen under recently visited tab and under product option icon. i want to remove from that place. i want to search the product every time and click on that product link.

Is it recommended to have multiple Creo Datecodes interacting Windchill at a time for an existing Implementation

Dear Experts,

 

We have few departments with Creo 2.0 M120 and a specific set of users wanted to use advanced features which is available in latest Creo version [Creo 2.0 M220].

 

Is there any risk for the Data Integrity  to use multiple date code of same version Creo ?
